Monolama: "classic"
becomes future
CEIR revisits the timeless design of the single-blade grid, taking it in new creative directions that can enhance any architectural project.
LEARN MOREThe Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne is Switzerland’s most visited museum, showcasing the past, present, and future of mobility across rail, road, water, air, and space
As part of its ongoing evolution, the museum has introduced a new multi-purpose building, replacing the original Rail Transport Hall 1, designed by Otto Dreyer
At CEIR, we are proud to have contributed to this prestigious project with our Tétral B open-cell aluminum ceiling panels. Featuring a 10mm base, 40mm height, and a 50x50mm cell size, our ceilings seamlessly integrate with the museum’s modern yet functional design.
The new multi-purpose space enhances the museum’s visitor experience by housing exhibition areas, a second entrance, a shop, and new conference rooms. On the upper levels, office spaces are arranged around an elevated green patio, providing a sustainable and collaborative environment. The basement now accommodates the central energy plant, which operates via a heat pump supplied by lake water, further reinforcing the museum’s commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability
CEIR’s lightweight, fully recyclable aluminum ceilings align with the museum’s mission to preserve and innovate. By optimizing acoustic performance and airflow, our ceilings contribute to a modern, adaptable, and environmentally responsible interior.
We are honored to see our ceiling solutions integrated into such a historic and forward-thinking institution, supporting a space that continues to educate, inspire, and evolve.
